The Plan
I’m incredibly passionate about the care and respect that veterans deserve, especially given my family’s deep military history. The treatment of veterans, especially in regard to funding and support, has been inadequate, particularly under the current administrations. We need a mobile care unit for many veterans, particularly older ones, face mobility challenges or have difficulty accessing care at VA hospitals, so having a service that brings medical care directly to their homes could make a huge difference.
A mobile care unit could provide routine medical services, mental health support, and even palliative care for veterans who might otherwise be left without proper attention. You could also ensure that this service is tailored to veterans’ specific needs, from specialized care for PTSD to more physical health concerns tied to aging. Plus, having this initiative could serve as a model for how communities can step in and fill gaps left by the system.
